MŪV Chiropractic (“MŪV,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a chiropractic clinic at 1790 30th Street, Suite 100, Boulder, Colorado, and the website at muvboulder.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We take your privacy seriously — both as a healthcare provider and as a small Boulder business that has to earn your trust before you ever walk through the door.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly and information that is gathered automatically when you use our website or services.
- Identity and contact information you provide when you book an appointment, fill out a new-patient intake form, request the free posture assessment, sign up for emails, or contact us — typically your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and date of birth.
- Health information you provide on intake forms, during your visit, or in follow-up communications. This includes your medical history, current symptoms, prior injuries, medications, insurance information when applicable, and any notes our clinicians create about your care. As a chiropractic clinic, this is “Protected Health Information” (PHI) under HIPAA — see the HIPAA section below.
- Booking and scheduling data processed through our online scheduling partner (Aloha / ReviewWave). When you book through the embedded scheduler, that data flows to the partner’s systems under their privacy terms as well as ours.
- Payment information when you pay for services. We do not store full card numbers ourselves; payment processors handle that under PCI-DSS.
- Website usage data collected automatically: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent, referring URL, and similar analytics data. This is used in aggregate to understand how the site is performing.
How we use your information
- To schedule, deliver, document, and follow up on chiropractic care.
- To communicate with you about appointments, treatment plans, and clinic updates.
- To send marketing emails, newsletters, or special offers — only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.
- To improve the website, troubleshoot problems, prevent fraud, and understand which content and services are useful.
- To meet legal, regulatory, billing, insurance, and recordkeeping obligations that apply to a Colorado healthcare provider.
HIPAA notice
Chiropractic care is a covered health service under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Your Protected Health Information is handled in accordance with our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is provided at your first visit and is available on request. Website analytics, marketing emails, and general contact information are not PHI when collected outside of a treatment relationship — but the moment information is tied to your care, HIPAA protections apply. We do not sell PHI, ever, and we only share it with third parties (such as billing processors, insurers, or referring providers) when permitted or required by HIPAA.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising pixels
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and to measure how it’s used. We currently use:
- Google Analytics to understand site traffic and improve content. Google Analytics may set cookies that record an anonymized version of your IP and your interactions with the site. You can opt out of Google Analytics across the web using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the effectiveness of advertising and to reach people who have visited the site. You can manage Meta ad preferences in your Facebook account settings, or opt out of interest-based advertising via the Digital Advertising Alliance.
- Essential cookies required for the site to function (for example, remembering whether you have dismissed the cookie banner).
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in settings. Doing so may break parts of the site, including the booking widget.
Sharing your information
We share information only as described here:
- Service providers who help us run the clinic and the website — for example, the booking platform, email delivery, hosting (WP Engine), and analytics — under contracts that limit how they may use your data.
- Healthcare partners such as referring providers, imaging facilities, or insurance carriers, when relevant to your care or billing and in line with HIPAA.
- Legal compliance when we are required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the safety of patients, staff, or the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Health records are subject to medical retention rules under Colorado law, but you can always request a copy.
- You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email.
- You can ask us to stop using your information for a specific purpose by contacting us at the details below.
Children’s privacy
The website is not directed at children under 13. We do treat pediatric patients in clinic, but any information about a minor patient is provided by a parent or guardian during the intake process and is handled under HIPAA, not collected through the public website.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal and health information. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that information transmitted over the internet is fully protected in transit. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by HIPAA and Colorado law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “effective date” at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of the page or communicated by email if you have an account with us.
