What Does Your Body’s Warning Light Mean?

Just like the warning light that comes on in your car to indicate that your vehicle has an issue or needs maintenance, symptoms are your body’s way of telling you something’s not right. It may take weeks, months or even years to get symptoms.

We often find that someone’s chief complaint isn’t the primary issue. That’s why we don’t want to treat symptoms, but instead determine the underlying root cause. For example, consider cracks in a ceiling. Those cracks typically don’t mean there’s an issue with the ceiling, but instead a problem with the foundation.

Sure, you can cover up the cracks with paint and make it look better, which is similar to masking symptoms with medication. The problem with that approach, however, is you’re not addressing the actual issue or the root cause – the foundation. Therefore, the cracks or symptoms may always come back regardless of how often you conceal them.

Getting to the Root Cause

In our office, we start every patient with a complete consultation, thorough exam, postural and neurological assessments and we take digital motion X-rays to find out exactly where the issues are. We find out what’s moving and what’s not, which will help us narrow where the true problems are and how we’ll best be able to fix them.

Our Comprehensive Approach

On days one and two, Dr. Mike spends time educating and inspiring patients to let them know how they can get their health on track.

It’s Not About How You Feel, But How You Heal

While symptoms can be a warning light that’s something wrong, some people don’t get any symptoms, but there could still be something wrong. You should never base your health on how you look and how you feel. If you base your well-being on those two things, you will miss the top two killers in our country: cancer and heart disease.

Be Proactive, Not Reactive

Someone with cancer, for example, could feel fine until one day they feel “off,” only to be given a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. What happened to the first three stages when they felt fine? Or with heart disease-for most people, the first symptom of heart disease is a heart attack. Don’t let this be you!

Warm, friendly staff makes you feel welcomed. Quick response even though (office was not even open on Friday), thorough diagnostics work. Layed out program clearly. Very good experience.
